CANDLE CARE
A beautiful burn, from first light to last.
A little care helps your candle burn evenly and beautifully. These simple steps protect the vessel, the wick and the quiet moment you made room for.
Before the first light
Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, children, pets and anything that can catch fire. Keep the wax free of matches, wick trimmings and other debris.
Give the first burn time to open
On the first burn, allow the melted wax to reach close to the vessel edge without exceeding four hours. This helps establish an even melt pool and reduces tunnelling on later burns.
Trim the wooden wick
Before every burn, let the candle cool completely, then gently remove the loose charred wood and trim the wick to approximately 1/8 inch. A short, clean wooden wick supports a calm, steady flame.
Keep each burn between two and four hours
Give the wax enough time to form an even melt pool, but never burn the candle for more than four hours at a time. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and do not move it while the wax is liquid or the vessel is warm.
Extinguish, cool and begin again
Use a candle snuffer when possible, then let the vessel and wax cool completely before trimming or relighting. Keep the candle away from sudden air movement while the flame settles.
Know when to say goodbye
Stop burning when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom. Continuing past that point can overheat the vessel.
